Greetings
“We are cultivating global innovators in IT and
biotechnology who will redefine the future and make
a profound impact on human life around the world”
Hello,
I am Yoon-Kyoung Cho, Dean of the College of Information and Biotechnology at UNIST.
The convergence of information technology (IT) and biotechnology (BT) is leading groundbreaking advancements by leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and big data for personalized medicine and drug development. These innovations are accelerating progress in early disease diagnosis and preventive medicine. Additionally, we are creating new value across various fields, including digital healthcare, manufacturing innovation, smart mobility, smart agriculture, and environmental protection, thereby paving the way for a sustainable future.
The College of Information and Biotechnology at UNIST includes six departments and two graduate schools: the Graduate Schools of AI and Health Science and Technology, and the Departments of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biological Sciences, Industrial Engineering, and Design. Through interdisciplinary research, we aim to explore new possibilities and achieve world-class outcomes, establishing ourselves as leaders on the global stage.
Interdisciplinary research transcends borders and thrives on both competition and collaboration. To create new value, we must foster a culture of relentless innovation, dedication, respect for diversity, and mutual support. At UNIST, we strive to build a unique, collaborative community that embodies these principles.
We hope the College of Information and Biotechnology at UNIST continues to inspire talented individuals to pursue academic excellence and drive innovation, becoming key players in the rapidly evolving digital age.
Thank you.
Dean, Yoon-Kyoung Cho
